Looking for dog-friendly accommodation in Pitlochry? From November 2025, The Retreat Cabin will officially be pet-friendly, giving you the chance to enjoy a relaxing break in the Scottish Highlands without leaving your dog behind.
At The Retreat Cabin, we know dogs are part of the family—that’s why we’re making it easier than ever to bring them along. You’re welcome to bring one well-behaved dog for just £35 per stay.
Our dog-friendly holiday cabin in Pitlochry offers (please let us know in advance if you require any of these items:

A fully enclosed private garden with a tall wooden fence

Easy-clean tiled floors and underfloor heating throughout

A Yeti stainless steel dog bowl

Dog towels for drying off after walks or swims

A dog bed, so no worries if you forget to pack yours!
Located in the heart of Highland Perthshire, there are countless dog-friendly walks nearby—from peaceful riverside paths and circular loch routes to moderate hill walks and local Munros. It’s the perfect base for outdoor adventures with your dog.
We take pride in maintaining exceptionally high cleaning standards, so all guests (with or without pets) can enjoy a fresh, spotless stay.
Please note: Dogs must not be left unattended in the cabin at any time.

To help make your stay smooth and enjoyable, please take a moment to read our dog policy below.

If you need any of the following during your stay, just let us know in advance and we’ll have them ready for your arrival:

Garden corkscrew & tether (great for peace of mind in our fenced garden—especially for little Houdinis!)
If you haven’t already told us at the time of booking, please confirm:

How many dogs (we welcome a maximum of 1 well-behaved dogs)
Registered guide and hearing dogs are very welcome and stay free of charge. If you’re bringing an assistance dog, we’d appreciate advance notice.
🐶 Canine Code of Conduct
We want all guests—human and canine—to have a fantastic stay. To ensure everyone’s comfort, safety, and enjoyment, we kindly ask that dog owners follow our simple rules:

Supervision:
Dogs must always be on a lead, under control, and supervised when in the garden, path, and parking areas. Please be advised there are other dogs on site. -
No Unattended Dogs:
Dogs must not be left alone in the property at any time. If you have an emergency and need help, please contact us. -
Noise:
Excessive barking can disturb other guests—please be considerate of your surroundings. -
Toileting:
All dogs must be fully house-trained. Please ensure they toilet outside, and clean up immediately. -
Sleeping Arrangements:
Dogs are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture. We recommend bringing your dog’s own bed or crate. -
Cleanliness:
Please clean up after your dog inside and out. You’ll find cleaning supplies in the cabin (vacuum, mop, dustpan, etc.).
If your dog has an accident, let us know—we have a carpet and upholstery cleaner available. -
Waste Disposal:
Use the plastic bin outside your lodge to dispose of all dog waste securely. -
Damage & Liability:
Dog owners are responsible for any damage caused during their stay. Accidents happen—we just ask that you inform us promptly so we can put things right before the next guests arrive. -
Dog Safety:
The Retreat Cabin garden is fully fenced, but feel free to use the corkscrew & tether if you’d like added peace of mind. -
